This year's ecumenical Lent Series, held in the Preston Minster, will explore how we 'Travel to God', what do you have in your suitcase??

Please display the posters/info in your church and encourage a group to come with you each week. This is the 'Church in Preston' gathering to grow in our faith together, please do all you can you encourage. [Ken]

2. Sunday 18 February, 7.30pm: at St Cuthbert's, a presentation by Wonder Phiri, British Red Cross Refugee Services
During the evening gathering at St Cuthbert's, Fulwood, on Sunday 18 February, 7pm for 7.30pm, there will be a presentation by Wonder Phiri who is the Project Support Development Coordinator, British Red Cross Refugee Services (Lancashire). He will be giving some input of around 45 minutes or so, and then there will be the opportunity for Q&A of up to 30 minutes. We will then get into groups and pray about the issues raised. This should be an excellent introduction to the raft of issues around working with asylum seekers and refugees for any who would like to find out more! There will be refreshments from 7pm and the meeting itself will commence at 7.30pm. There is no charge for the evening. [Mark Bradford]

4. Saturday 24th February, 2pm on: Celebration of 40yrs of Fulwood Free Methodist Church -
Fulwood Free Methodist Church celebrates its 40th Anniversary on 24th-25th February and we warmly invite you to join us. We are having an exhibition of photographs and memorabilia from across the 40 years on Saturday 24th, 2-4pm and 6-7pm followed at 7:30pm by a celebration service at which our founding pastor, Rev. J. 7. Friday 2nd March: Women's World Day of Prayer Services held locally
This year's Service has been compiled by the Christian ladies of Suriname and the theme is 'All God's Creation is very Good' focusing on the Environmental Issues of today.
(a) 2pm at Lea Methodist Church, Birkdale Drive, Savick Estate, PR2 1UN. Led by women from the participating ecumenical churches of Lea, Ashton and Ingol, it is expressly hoped that men also will join us. [Janice Carney]

8. Saturday 3rd March, 7pm: Family Quiz Night – Grimsargh St. Michael’s School
On Saturday March 3rd “FAF”, (Fundraising and Fun) has organised a “Family Quiz Night” in aid of “The Church Windows Restoration Fund”. The event will take place Grimsargh St. Michael’s School, starting at 7pm. Cost is £5 a team (up to 6). if you think that you would like to go, please email jaynewoollam@hotmail.co.uk.

9. from Mon 5th March, 10am: Photo Exhibition in Central Methodist - Discover Fairtrade Gold
tells the story of marginalised mining communities in Africa & South America, where Fairtrade is changing lives. This new Fairtrade Photo exhibition focuses on the many challenges facing small-scale miners, combining striking images with facts and quotes to show why choosing Fairtrade Gold is so important. Mon 5 March - Sat 10 March, every morning till 1pm, Sat till 12, at Central Methodist Church, Lune Street. Do take time to pop in and see it. [Anne Garsed]

10. Saturday 10th March, 10.30am: 'Love urges Longings' at The Carmelite Monastery, Fulwood,
Tabor closed in the summer but many of the ministries continue and I wanted to share the attached, In addition to the 10th March there are Monthly Carmelite Prayer evenings which include a short reflection and mostly silence and Carmelite days the next being Thurs 22nd March at 7.30pm. The Nuns at the Carmelite Monastery on St.VincentsRoad, celebrated their 100th anniversary last year! It is a lovely place to meet for prayer.
